The four stages of a haunting, namely infestation, obsession, oppression, and possession, represent a gradual escalation in the intensity of supernatural phenomena. The initial stage, infestation, involves the presence of malevolent entities in a particular location, often manifesting through unexplained sounds, movements, or disturbances. As the haunting progresses to obsession, individuals within the affected space may experience heightened anxiety, irrational thoughts, or an overwhelming preoccupation with the paranormal. The third stage, oppression, is marked by a more direct and forceful influence, with entities exerting control over the environment and the people within it. Finally, the most alarming stage, possession, occurs when a malevolent entity takes control of an individual's mind or body, leading to profound changes in behavior and consciousness. Each stage serves as a chilling reminder of the potential escalation and danger inherent in supernatural encounters.
